Grants
Grants are financial aid funds that don’t have to be repaid. Students may apply for federal and state grants by completing the .
Federal Grants
Pell Grants
Pell Grants are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree. Funds can be used to pay for classes, books, and school supplies at the Orcutt Bookstore. .
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG)
FSEOG funds are awarded to undergraduate students with the greatest financial need. Priority is given to Pell Grant recipients. .
State Grants
Longleaf Commitment Grant
The Longleaf Commitment Grant provides tuition and fee assistance for recent North Carolina high school graduates from low- and middle-income families. To qualify, students must:
- Complete the FAFSA with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $15,000 or less
- Complete residency determination through the NC Residency Determination Service (RDS)
- Enroll in at least six credit hours

Finish Line Grant
Finish Line Grants offer up to $1,000 to community college students who are close to completing their education but face unexpected financial hardships such as medical expenses, childcare, or car repairs. Eligible students must:
- Be enrolled in a North Carolina community college
- Be in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA)
- Have completed at least 50% of their program

Scholarships
The Ä¢¹½tv Foundation and community partners award numerous scholarships each year to help students fund their education. Scholarships may be based on academic achievement, financial need, or specific program areas.
Loans
Ä¢¹½tv does not participate in the federal student loan program. However, the college works with private lenders who offer educational loans to help students cover additional expenses.
While Ä¢¹½tv encourages students to minimize debt whenever possible, we understand that every situation is unique. Before applying for a private loan, make sure you understand interest rates, repayment terms, and any associated fees.
Military Benefits
Ä¢¹½tv Veteran Services assists students in using military education benefits, including the GI Bill® and Tuition Assistance. Our staff can guide you through eligibility, application, and certification steps to make the process simple and stress-free.
Federal Work-Study Program
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program provides part-time employment for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. Many positions offer opportunities related to a student’s program of study or community service.
